West Virginia Skills USA Leadership and Skills competition was held in April at Ben Franklin in Dunbar. The state level winners from that competition proceeded to the National competition held in Kansas City, Missouri in June. From Carver, our winners were: Noel Holcomb-Collision Repair, Adult ; Kristin Roberts-Cosmetology, Adult (18th Place); Nathan Heslep-Fire Fighting, Adult (6th Place); Carl Duffield-Plumbing, Adult (3rd Place); Alex Kincaid-Electrical, Adult (13th Place). These students represented us well and had an excellent learning opportunity.

Faculty who accompanied the students to the competition were Teresa Hannah, Jimmy Halstead, Mark Postle, and George Atkisson. We appreciate the time and interest our staff members continually invest in Carver and the education of our students.

Our programs have already started preparing for this year’s competitions, and we wish all of the students Good Luck!
