Skills USA is an organization for trade, industrial, and technical students. Each chapter chooses, plans, and conducts their own activities. Skills USA emphasizes social and leadership abilities as well as occupational skills. This organization prepares students for life. It brings people together who share common interests and allows them to share ideas. It helps to broaden perspectives through joint activities of chapters and states.
Skills USA instills spirit and a desire to learn, to grow and to become a productive citizen. We believe that competition is a positive way to increase skill levels, and we are proud of the students who compete at Carver - first within the school, and then at the state level. For those who win first place in the West Virginia state level competition in April, the national competition is next and is held in Kansas City in June. Congratulations to all of our previous winners, and good luck to those of you who will go forward and compete for the Gold in the future with SkillsUSA! (
